Day 2 of the Australian Open Club Championships saw St Kilda HC entering the men’s competition. After two close games and two draws for St Kilda HC, Group B finished with UTS 1 on top, St Kilda HC second and West Coast Handball missing the finals by just one goal.
In the men’s Group A, Sydney University continued their crusade and managed to clinch the top spot on the ladder. With one game left to play in Group B, it looks like the Wolves will take the second spot in the finals to face UTS 1. Archrivals Sydney Uni and St Kilda HC will be facing off in the other semi-final.
In the women’s competition, AS Dumbea progressed to the semifinals after two convincing wins. Melbourne HC finished second in Group A behind AS Dumbea by goal difference. AS Dumbea will face Auckland in the semi-final on Saturday whilst Melbourne HC will face last year’s finalists UTS.
We’re looking forward to an exciting Saturday afternoon when the finals kick off at the Corio Leisuretime Centre!
